FDB Gravel Aggregate Manager
FULL TIME POSITION

Flying Dust First Nation retails several sand and gravel materials. We also cover all aggregates for asphalt and concrete.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Must be familiar with programming Flying Dust uses to keep track on sales/invoicing/man hours on job site
  • Must be able to organize workers on site
  • Ordering of all necessary parts for crushing/screening, and equipment on sites
  • Must be able to answer phone and communicate with office staff
  • Know different aggregate types and understand spec gravel
  • Must be able to understand equipment and know how to train workers
  • Must be safety orientated and understand what a safe job site is
  • Be able to fill in for workers if need be to keep operation running smoothly
  • Execute strategic marketing plan.
  • Develop and implement distribution strategies, reselling agreements, and other growth opportunities.
  • Must be able to bid on work, and put “proper’’ quotes together (both material on site, and delivered)
  • Assess operational issues in regards to competitiveness
  • Stay up to date with external and internal developments in the environment for identifying new market segments
  • Provide input from sales – including growth, competitive analysis, market trends, and business environment – for strategic planning processes
  • Create product segmentation strategies where needed to maximize business opportunities across various sales channels
  • Develop, manage, and nurture new business accounts and partnerships to accomplish profit and volume goals
  • Responsible of production of brochures and other print materials as well as electronic materials to market services
  • Conducts onsite evaluations of employees and offers coaching and feedback based upon observations
  • Know and follow all company safety policies as well as SOHS regulations
  • Practice safety at all times including driving of company vehicles or use of equipment. Use PPE while on jobsite e.g. hard hat safety glasses, ear protection, high visibility vest, steel toe boots, pants, and gloves.
  • Maintain a drug & alcohol free worksite
  • Participates in management & staff meetings

QUALIFICATIONS ARE:

  • Business, marketing, or an appropriate combination of education and practical sales experience
  • Working experience in gravel sales and/or marketing required
  • Must maintain and support confidentiality and privacy limitations
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
